Use What You've Got.....
Well, I finished the first and am about 1/2 way through the second sock of my "Sprite" footies (aka BMG footies - the colors remind me of a bottle of Sprite!) The colors are nice and bright - here's the 2nd skein of the same color that I have (not sure what I'll end up doing with 1 skein of sock yarn - hmmmm - another pair of anklets!) They are going really quick and are so easy! Thank you Julia for the pattern!
I've also been working on Hope - the cables are getting easier as I go, but there are a lot of them! By the time I get to the front and sleeves, I'll be a pro! The more I work with the All Seasons Cotton, the more I love it. It doesn't split, it's soft in my hands, slides nice on the needles, great stitch definition - what more could you ask for?
I've also been peroosing through my stash. I got about 2 lbs of Naturelle 8/8 from a kind soul on the KR Forum swap area. It's a nice charcoal grey color (much like my Dolman Updated sweater color) and is really soft. I'm thinking of making the Corset Pullover from IK - it looks very different and not like a "typical" sweater. My sister is being great and winding it into 200 yd balls so I can tell how much I have and make it a little more portable. Here is the cone with one lonely ball done....
I have 15 balls of Tahki Panda in a great rich red color slated for a cartigan of some sort (a sweater with that yarn I think would be way too warm!)Not sure which one yet....still browsing. I have more Kroy sock yarn in a very pretty Winter Eclipse color - I think I will make either the Diagonal Rib Socks from the IK subscribers section or the Dublin Bay socks. Not to mention the Outback Wool and Fairy Hare from Kimmet Croft I got at MD S&W, and the bag of Filatura Di Crosa 501 print I got at the WEBS tent sale. Decisions, decisions......I need to sit down this weekend and write down all that I have and put it on a spreadsheet like my projects are - that way I can see what I have and maybe what I can use it for!
The felted Ipod cozy was a big hit with my friend Heather - she loved it! The ipod was a gift from a bunch of us, and she was really touched. She deserves it - she's the best! Here it is pre-button closure. The patons wool felted great as usual....
Good signs in the garden - after one application of Sevin, no more hornworms! Good riddance! Agility class with the boys again toinght. They are doing so well! I'll try and get some pictures to post of them being their athletic selves....
